Flights from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with Jetstar and Virgin Blue fly to the Hamilton Island airport on a daily basis where a connecting boat will take you to Shute Harbour at Airlie Beach where you will connect with another vessel which takes you to your chosen island accommodation. When flying into Proserpine just 30 minutes out of Airlie Beach, with either Jetstar or Virgin Blue, a shuttle bus will meet you to drive you to Shute Harbour to jump on board one of Fantasea Cruise boats to take you across to Long Island. Driving can take approximately 13 hours with no stopping when coming from Brisbane, and all train services run just out of Airlie Beach and drop you at the train station and the coach service drop you directly where you need to go in Airlie Beach.
