Long Island Airport

Long Island doesn't have its own airport, but you can still take daily flights to either Proserpine or the Great Barrier Reef Airport located on Hamilton Island. Flights into Proserpine come from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne with Virgin Blue, Jetstar or Qantas. When you land at Proserpine a shuttle bus will be there to transport you to Shute Harbour in Airlie Beach, which is approximately 30 minutes away. From the harbour one of Fantasea Cruises ships will take you across to your island destination.

The Great Barrier Reef airport on Hamilton Island has flights arriving daily and is serviced by Virgin Blue and Jetstar. When you land on Hamilton Island a connect ferry will be waiting to take you across the Coral Sea and to Long Island and your chosen accommodation. Fantasea's fleet of high speed air conditioned catamarans deliver you to and from the Whitsunday islands in comfort and leave you plenty of time to relax; enjoy the sports and facilities and get your feet wet in the crystal clear water. Though when coming from Hamilton Island you will first be dropped at Shute Harbour at Airlie Beach where you will connect with another boat that will take you across to Long Island.
