There are three styles of rooms to choose from on Long Island including the Lodge Rooms, Garden Rooms and Beachfront Rooms. The Lodge Rooms are possibly for the discerning traveller that doesn't really have a lot of many to spend but still wants to experience all that the Island has to offer. Set in the garden, the lodge rooms provide budget accommodation for your island escape. They feature different bedding configurations, ceiling fans, shared bathroom facilities and a common room with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The Garden Rooms include your own private balcony with garden views, radio, double bed, internet access, air-conditioning, refrigerator, tea and coffee facilities, ensuite, daily servicing and TV. But if you want to be right on the beach with magnificent views then book one of the Beachfront Room set within meters of the beach and provides the perfect spot for viewing the sunset over the reef in Happy Bay.
Enjoy the magic of nature with 20 km of scenic walking tracks, explore the 2500 acres of national park and palm fringed beaches ideal for all ages and fitness levels. For those who enjoy the great outdoors or simply wish to enjoy the complete Long Island experience, you may wish to completely circumnavigate the Island by foot. You will endure 9 hours of walking/hiking/climbing but the memories will last forever.
No Whitsunday getaway is complete without enjoying the Great Barrier Reef. Long Island boasts coral reef only 150 metres off shore. Hamilton Island cruise Whitsundays operate regular services from the Great Barrier Reef airport on Hamilton island with a direct catamaran cruise to long island for its visitors that take approximately 35 minutes. You also have the option to make your way by air, coach, rail or car to Airlie beach where from Shute Harbour, at Airlie a ferry cruises can be organised to take you to Long Island for you holiday destination. All of the coach service run direct routes in Airlie Beach, though if you decide to travel via air you will land at Proserpine which is approximately 30 minutes out of Airlie Beach and there will be a shuttle bus waiting your arrival to take you to Shute Harbour for your connecting ferry cruise.
