Long Island Resort

The best family resort in the Whitsundays is Long Island Resort. Formerly known as Club Crocodile Resort, the property has been purchased by the Ocean Hotels group and renamed. Long island resort is also ideal for romantic getaways and honeymoons. It is located on the western shore of Long Island and is very easy to access. Cruise Whitsunday offer transfers from either Shute Harbour on the mainland or from Hamilton Island where you can fly in direct from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. This idyllic island resort is surrounded by rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef and is a true tropical island experience.

The resort has its own reef alive with coral and marine attractions so you can just walk in off the beach and try a snorkel or diving experience. There are also regular day trips to the Great Barrier Reef itself so you can experience the awesome majesty of one of Australia's greatest tourist icons. Many other day trips are also available so there is plenty to see and do if you decide not to just laze around the pool or lie on the beach with a fancy cocktail. The Palms restaurant offers you a themed buffet dining experience in a relaxed setting, opening onto the courtyard and the deck areas. There is also a casual café close to the pool and bar for those in between snacks that you always seem to need on a relaxing holiday. The sand bar comes alive at night with entertainment and the night owls will love the resorts nightclub.

The resorts attractions include snorkeling and fish feeding, 20 kilometers of bushwalking tracks, free use of peddle boats and paddle boards, beachside swimming pool with swim up bar, spa and sauna, gymnasium and lap pool, basketball and tennis.
