You have a choice to fly into the airport at either Proserpine or Hamilton Island to access the Whitsundays. When flying into the Whitsundays you will jump onto a connecting coach service that will deliver you to Shute Harbour at Airlie Beach. Once here a ferry cruise boat will be waiting to transport you over to Long Island. If you are flying into Hamilton Island a Fantasea Cruise ship will be waiting to take you to your destination island. Though when flying into Hamilton Island the Fantasea Boat will take you, firstly, to Shute harbour where you will change over to another boat that will take you to Long Island. If you decide to travel by car the Bruce Highway take you directly to Airlie Beach where you can board a ferry across to the island. All train and coach services run either directly to or just out of Airlie Beach for your convenience.
